Anyone that donates 5 food items at the Lake County YMCA will have their New Join Fee ($50 value) waived when you join the Lake County Y through March 31.
Food items needed include spaghetti sauce/pasta, peanut butter, jelly, canned/boxed soup and meals, canned vegetables/fruit, tuna fish/canned meat, juice, water and paper/hygiene products. (Think ingredients, not finished items) Donated food will be given to the United Way of Lake County for its annual “Feed Lake County” food drive.
Food items may be donated at the Lake County YMCA Central (933 Mentor Ave in Paniesville), West End (37100 Euclid Ave in Willoughby) or East End (730 North Lake St in Madison).
Current YMCA members are also encouraged to donate food items.
“Our community support has always exceeded our expectations. Last year the Lake County Y donated enough food to provide 4, 233 meals to our neighbors in need,” said Kathy Spence, director of membership development.
