The Mark Wood Experience accompanied by the Mentor High School Orchestra
Remarkable Lake County Ohio welcomes the Mark Wood Experience live in concert. Hosted by the Lake County Visitors Bureau and the City of Mentor, the Grammy Award winner Mark Wood and the Mark Wood Experience will take the stage at the Mentor Civic Amphitheater, June 16, 2018 at 7:00 pm. Wood is best known as the World’s Premier Electric Violinist, original member of the Trans-Siberian Orchestra, the Mark Wood Experience, and founder of Electrify Your Strings.
As part of this event, Wood and his band of five will be joined on-stage with members of the Mentor High School Orchestra (Mentor, OH). Ultimately, there could be as many as 20 orchestra students on stage, creating an extraordinary electrifying sensory event. Mentor High School orchestras include: Concert, Symphony, Mannheim Chamber, and the Cardinal Quartet.
This concert event is a direct outcome of an objective set forth in October during the visitors’ bureau’s annual meeting. The objective is to raise awareness to Lake County’s remarkable fine arts community while creating a uniquely defined Lake County experience. Dockus, Executive Director Lake County Visitors Bureau said, “In October, our annual meeting became electrified when Mark and the Mentor High School Orchestra performed. This was a first for Lake County and the first for our annual meeting.” Dockus added, “Having Mark return with his band and performing with the Mentor Orchestra will set the stage for many such events.” When asked if the (Mentor) orchestra would like to perform with the Mark Wood Experience, without hesitation, Matt Yoke, Mentor High School Orchestra Director said, “Yes, we would love to be a part of this.”
