Lake Erie College Presents Science Comedian Brian Malow
Brian Malow is Earth’s Premier Science Comedian (self-proclaimed), entertaining and igniting interest in science. For general audiences and specialized groups. Brian has performed for the American Chemical Society, the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), JPL, Scholastic Library Publishing, the National Association of Science Writers, the Koshland Museum of the National Academy of Sciences, Apple, Dell, and Microsoft. He has co-hosted Hacking the Planet and The Truth About Twisters on The Weather Channel, and has appeared on The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson (CBS) and on Tech TV, Discovery, and A&E. Brian has produced and appeared in science videos for Time Magazine’s website, and audio essays for Neil deGrasse Tyson’s radio show. He gives workshops and presentations to train scientists to become better speakers. Clients include the National Research Council of Canada, the National Science Foundation, the American Association for the Advancement of Science, and the American Geophysical Union. His Neil Armstrong routine was once heard aboard an orbiting Space Shuttle (STS-44). And he serves on the advisory board of the USA Science and Engineering Festival and as a contributing editor to The Journal of Irreproducible Results. He also likes to photograph insects: InsectPaparazzi.com. His photographs have appeared in Natural History Magazine, The Canadian Journal of Arthropod Identification, and BugGuide.net Brian worked in science communications at the North Carolina Museum of Natural Sciences in Raleigh, and blogged for Scientific American.
