REPORTS TO: DEAN OF THE SCHOOL OF BUSINESS & PROFESSIONAL STUDIES
STATUS: PART-TIME
Lake Erie College, a small, co-educational, four-year, independent liberal arts college located in Painesville, OH, 30 miles east of Cleveland, invites applications for Adjunct Faculty, Sociology.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provides instruction at the undergraduate level using collaborative, instructional technology, and innovative methods.
- Teaches lower and/or upper-division sociology courses as assigned by program director.
- Develops syllabi and coursework in alignment with course description and student learning outcomes.
- Provides assessment of students and supports college assessment needs.
- Establishes and fosters community and institutional relationships to form partnerships that will assist students with networking and job opportunities.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS & KEY COMPETENCIES:
- Minimum of a master’s degree in Sociology or closely related field provided the applicant’s transcripts demonstrate completion of at least 18 semester credit hours (or equivalent quarter hours) of specific coursework in Sociology.
- Must be able to teach in person.
- Demonstrates a commitment to excellence in teaching in a liberal arts college environment.
